The past week was the worst since I started to play full time.
I'm basically break even since last thursday (8 days of poker).
Its still not a really big downswing since my lowest point was about 8 buy-ins below my highest, but it's just frustrating to play 30K hands and not win a single dollar.
It's not only bad luck that caused that downswing (althought the quads against my set/boat at the same time at two different tables was amazing).
I also did make some bad plays offcourse, but I also noticed that the players are getting better and that there is not as much fish as before.
I also talked to two other Dutch regular players and they were experiencing the exact same thing. So as I was afraid off.....poker is just like the stock exchange (although not so fast yet)....when there are price differences (high fish to regular ratio) the marketmaker (regular) steps in and takes the profit. As the ratio decreases, winrates for regulars will drop and variance will increase.
Offcourse the good players will always make profits, but winrates of 8+ are just not possible over a long stretch of time.

natuurlijk vrij irritant als je over een stretch van 30K geen $ verdient. Maar als er zoveel regulars zitten, is het dan bijvoorbeeld niet beter om wat lager te gaan spelen zoals 100NL, omdat je edge hier veel groter is?

Ik neem aan dat je op Titan speelt. Ik heb hetzelfde probleem... Ik heb deze week de grootste downswing ooit gehad op Titan, voor mij was dat op dit moment 6 buyins op 100 NL. Zelf speel ik op meerdere sites, maar mijn mainpokerroom was Titan.
Ik kan me helemaal vinden in je verhaal, pokerrooms zijn inderdaad net beurzen.. Ik hoop dat volgende maand beter gaat voor ons beiden!

Ik dacht dat everest nu je main room was, Speel jij niet heel erg veel op tijden dat de andere regs er ook zitten, en de fish gewoon aan het werk is. Dus overdag en niet s'avonds?
Over 25 dollar per uur hoef je nog niet zo negatief te doen lijkt me.

Terug naar NL100 is geen optie voor me. Zoals ik al aangaf zijn er meerdere factoren waardoor het even wat minder gaat en op NL100 speel ik denk niet mijn beste spel.

Het klopt inderdaad dat overdag niet de beste tijd is. En misschien ga ik daarom af en toe eens een sessie in de avond of het weekend spelen wanneer de tegenstand duidelijk minder is.

Alles is relatief, maar voor mij is $25 per uur op dit moment erg teleurstellend ook al is het voor vele een aardig uurloon.

klopt rob, had even zin om HU te spelen en dit was enige beschikbare tafel waarbij iemand met full stack zat.
