Good start of the month

I started the month off good (except for Full Tilt, where I keep running terrible).
Games really seem to be getting better the past week after it was really quit the past 3 months.
Im trying to play a lot of hands this month and I might even give some WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) tournaments a try.
Lifetime I probably played around 100 big tournaments ($100+ buy-in) and I believe I only cashed in 3 off them.....(all min cashes) so a big score is soon to be mine ;-)

Here's are the tournaments I might play in:

Event 3 : $215 ($2M guaranteed) -> 3684/12066 (first prize $336k)

Event 12: $215 HU ($200K guaranteed) -> 2035/2307 (first prize $78k)

Event 14: $265 6max knockout ($400k guaranteed) -> 333 (ITM)/3325 (first prize $104k)
Event 14: $134 (2nd chance) -> 20 (ITM) /1324 (first prize $22k)

Event 22: $530 ($3M guaranteed) -> 4659/5799 (first prize $469k)

Event 23: $215 4max ($700k guaranteed) -> 290/2915 (ITM) (first prize $104k)

Event 32: $320 6max ($300k guaranteed) -> 1328/1957 (first prize $ 92k)

Event 50: $215 big antes ($600k guaranteed) -> 11/2933 (ITM) (first pize $94k)

As for my running bad on Full Tilt, it keeps going on. Ive played 300k hands there now and Im still losing with all my premiums except AA @ preflop allins.
Here's the updated graph again:

This is how it could be when you run hot like I do on Everest....

The bleeding has stopped

Finally it seems Im running somewhat better on Full Tilt.
It also takes a lot of time getting to know all the regulars and try to find a way to beat/exploit them. Running a little better offcourse helps, but I also have the feeling that im getting to know them and that my change in gameplan helped to improve my game and results.
So far this month (just 2 weeks for me) Im up 30 buyins which is ok.

I also found out that this is my 50th month as 'winning' poker player. In those 50 months I only lost money in cashgames in one month, so im quite happy with those results, hope I can do a little better in the next 50 ;-)

Here's the updated graph with preflop allins:

Back to work

Its just been a week since im back from holiday.
As always after a period without poker it gives me a fresh look on my game.
So I tried to adjust some small things about my game again.
The things I changed are mostly about position, which offcourse is one of the most important aspects in poker, but also a lot of players are just terrible at it, although they probably know how important it is, they just don't use it good enough.

As Im playing mostly rushpoker now on FT I think it's even more important as gameflow isn't a factor at these tables it's all about using position to you're best.

To give some examples of regulars who don't use their position I'll give some examples:

1. A FT red pro who plays a ton, his position stats are like this:
UTG: 19/19
EP : 15/14
CO : 16/13
BTN: 16/12
SB : 14/8
BB: 13/4

2. Another random regular who is playing a lot...
UTG: 23/23
EP : 25/22
CO : 24/17
BTN: 23/17
SB : 30/17
BB : 31/7

3. A laggy dutch regular
UTG: 27/27
EP: 32/32
CO: 33/31
BTN: 39/33
SB: 27/23
BB: 23/10

Well you don't have to be a genius to see that thats absolutely terrible.
On first sight these players might look ok to you, but when you study there game for a little bit they just have huge leaks in just their pre-flop game....
To give an idea about my game, I play around 15/15 UTG and 45/40 on the BTN.

Results for this first week have been ok, although im still running bad (especially on those preflop-allins). After 200k hands of rush im still losing money on preflop allins with KK/QQ and AK (KK should obv be a big winner, QQ a small winner and AK is pbb a 0-5bb loser normally). Here's the updated graph and let's hope that it will turn around soon....

You know when you're running bad....

....when you start a session and see hands like this.
Hope it turns around after my holiday, cause this is getting really sick.

Still no luck....

Somehow I still cant get it going on FT. Played over 160k hands now and despite the good games I still don't win what I should be able to win.

Here's my preflop all-in graph with QQ/KK/AK

And this one shows it all...my preflop all-in graph with KK, if you're EV line is down all the time with KK, you know you're getting a lot of coolers....

Time for a nice vacation trip to Italy I guess....back in 3 weeks!

vrijdag, juli 23, 2010

Way back....

Seems that me previous post helped me, cause today I'm on my way back up.
I also did some research is my old database and with a huge sample it seems that +3bb per allin seems like a normal amount to win in those situations on average.
So instead of being down 4500 big blinds, I should have been up around 600.
Lets see how this will develop...

And it goes on and on....

I played a lot of hands today again.
And just as my previous sessions on FT it was the same story, I just cant win allins with QQ/KK and AK. With all 3 hands Im a loser in preflop allin situations over a sample of 150k hands. I hope I reached my lowpoint now, so from now on I will be posting this updated graph after every day.
Lets see if I can turn it around!

woensdag, juli 21, 2010

They forgot to transfer my luckbox....

Somehow when playing at a 'new' site I always seem to run bad at the beginning.
With FT its nothing else....
So far I played a lot of rushpoker (almost 150k hands) and somehow I run absolutely terrible when it comes to preflop allin situations (could be my worst streak ever with this).
Currently im down 40 buyins with QQ/KK and AK (preflop allins). Even with KK alone im losing money. It's not that I get a lot of bad beats its just that everytime I have KK I run into AA (15 times already) and when I have QQ im up against KK.
The funny thing is that Im actually up with JJ/TT in preflop allins, so this shows me thats its just variance here otherwise I might consider only playing AA for stacks ;-)

Here's my graph of preflop allins with QQ+/AK:

Time for an update

Since im back from vegas I played a lot of hands (165k).
As Everest traffic is really slowing down lately, mainly because of the French players leaving I had to play another site as well.
It amazes me BTW that Everest seems to do nothing about it and just stands aside as they see all there high volume players leaving.

As I told in my previous post I really like rushpoker. For my style of play its probably ideal. I now also can play over 1300 hands an hour, by playing 4 tables of rush and what's left on Everest NL200+ tables.
The only disadvantage about a new (and large room) is that it takes a lot of time to know all the regulars players and eventually take advantage of their weak spots.

My results since Vegas (5 weeks) have been very good. So good that I bought a new car :-)

Back from Vegas

Vegas

Ive been back from Vegas for 10 days now.
It was really nice to play 2 WSOP tournaments, although I didnt make a cash in either one and both times I played ~10 hours to finish just outside of the money.
It's just really important to make an early (first 2 levels) double up in those tournaments, as they start with 90bb and without a double youre playing a 15-30bb stack (my favorite).
At least I didnt make any mistakes in the tournament although I'm still not sure about my bustout hand in my second WSOP tourney, I openshoved J8s on the button with about 16bb and got called by ATo in the BB. In retrospect I think I should have opened to 2.5x and fold to a shove.

Before Vegas I hardly played any live poker at all and I was a little scary that I might give away a lot of tells, but after playing a few hours (especially with cash) I noticed that I had nothing to be afraid of.
Especially in the cash games it was really easy to put people on hands, they played their hands completely face up and as Ive never seen anybody valuebet 'lightly' they just were always polarized in bluffs or monsters.

I had to say though, that the level of play in the WSOP tournaments was higher then expected. Offcourse I had some good tables as well, but especially my last table in the $1500 was pretty good (if you see no limping at all and an average age of 25 you know its not the best table availabe).

The cash tables I played on the other hand were very, very soft (I played 2/5).
One of the funniest hands I saw was a japanse guy vs the most competent player at the table, they were playing around $1700 effective stack.
He called a preflop reraise in position with KQo and they saw a flop HU (pot was ~$200). Flop was 9TJr and the japanese guy, who was sitting next to me bet $200 and got called by him, he clearly wasnt happy with the flop and even showed me his cards! On the 6 turn he made a $200 bet again and the other guy went allin pretty fast. The Japanse guy was complaining out loud and showed the whole table his cards and after the clock was called on him he called off the rest of his stack. $3500 pot it is...

Online grinding

After playing live for 10 days it was nice to play online again and be able to play 1000 hands an hour again. As there wasnt much action on Everest I played some rushpoker again on Full Tilt. In total I played around 65k hands already (40k on FT and 25k on EVP).
After a few weeks without playing online Im playing really good again. A break does miracles for my game most of the time. It also helps that Im finally running good again. Im beiung up ~55 buyins now (10 above EV).

Im also curious to see what happens with Everest when the French are not allowed to play anymore there (end of june). It cant be good for the games.

That was my update for now, gonna watch some tennis and football now!

donderdag, mei 20, 2010

Ouch...

As usual after a good day, I just had one of the worst hours ever. In a period of 875 hands I lost 8 buyins and won one pot above 20bb (40bb). All pots I lost were just coolers/beats, just nothing I could do about. Thats poker as well....

Best day ever and the fish factor

I'm back from 2 weeks holiday and a fresh start is always good for my game, so I had my best poker day ever yesterday, winning close to 20 buy-ins. Really happy with the timing of that day.
The bad news is that I probably have to cancel my Vegas trip due to some problems with the health of the father of my friend who's travelling with me.

Something else I was looking at was a way to find out how good the tables have been over a period of time and how this develops over time, some kind of fish factor.
What I did was looking at 3 things during a month:
1. How much hands did the fish play at my games (VPIP 32+)?
2. How much unique fish players were there during the month?
3. How much did they loose?

The first thing I noticed is that those players keep losing at a steady rate of 30bb/100. That doesn't change much over time, so in other words, the bad players don't get any better.

And for every hand that I play, I play around 0,6 hands with a fish at the table. So that means of I'm playing 12 tables there only around 7 to 8 bad players on those tables (out of 60 players in total). The bad thing is that this seems to be declining. Where I had around 0.7 at the end of 2009 it's was 0,4 in april.

This last conclusion also shows up when you look at unique players. Where I had over 1000 at my tables in September, I had just 500 in April.
The amount they play (80 hands per person) and lose ($100 per person per month) doesnt change much though.
The data I studied is only since september (older data is on my old computer), so it might just be normal seasonal effects (they play more in the winter then in the spring), but I try to keep an eye on this and see how it develops.

Another conclusion you can take from this data, is that if 5,4 players are battling for 0,6 players who are losing 30bb/100, the average winning player will win around 3bb/100. So if you win less then 3bb/100 you're probably not winning from other regulars.

One last other thing, since I'm back from holiday I noticed that Holdem Manager imported some duplicate hands. Somebody else ever had this? It destroys the reliability of my data so I hope I can fix this.

The difference between a good handreader and just an average player...

A warning first, do NOT try this at home.

This is a hand I played yesterday. Villian is a regular who I played over 11k hands with and seems like a decent player. He opens to 2.5bb from every position and his opening range here is around 20%. He is pretty aggro postflop on every street (AF >3 on every street), so he barrels a lot probably.

On to the hand (no special gameflow going on)

** Dealing Flop ** [ 7h, 2s, 3d ] -> pot=$26

-> This is a really dry flop on which he cbets probably close to 100% (his cbet% is 71%). Offourse I missed this flop completely but as he barrels a lot and probably always keeps barreling on K/Q turns I decide to call (as I would with a set here) and bluff good turns (4 to 9 and probably an A and call K/Q turns).
So the only turns Im definitely folding are 2,3,T,J cause they narrow my range of good value hands a lot instead of improving them.

jatekos bets [$14.00 USD]
BldZwtTrn calls [$14.00 USD]

** Dealing Turn ** [ 5c ] -> pot= $54

As told on the flop this is a good turn for my range. A4s/55/22/33/77 are all in my range on this turn so I decide to raise here. I should have raised a litte bit smaller though (to $100), so that I would have had one potsize bet left on the river (this probably gives me a little bit more fold equity on the river).

When I raise here, I'm probably shoving any river except a 2 and 3, although I don't think that makes a lot of difference.

FWIW my bluffing range on this turn is very, very small, because there are just not much (bluff) hands in my range here, besides the random-lets-turn K high-into-a-bluff-one-time hands. Hands like 44/76/88/99 I'm calling way more often here then turning them into a (semi) bluff.

jatekos bets [$38.00 USD]
BldZwtTrn raises [$112.00 USD]
jatekos calls [$74.00 USD]

** Dealing River ** [ 5s ] -> pot= $274

Not the best river for me, I'd rather seen a 6 or a 8, but still I pull through with my bluff, cause his hand is complete face up for me as TT-AA and I expected he was good enough to make this fold, but I was wrong.....

jatekos checks
BldZwtTrn bets [$270.00 USD]
jatekos calls [$228.50 USD]
BldZwtTrn wins $41.50 USD
BldZwtTrn shows [Qs, Kd ]
jatekos shows [Qc, Qh ]
jatekos wins $732.00 USD from main pot

Offcourse some will see this as spew, but with a clean image this should just be a very easy fold for him on the turn/river. I'm probably turning up here with a bluff in less then 1 out of 25 times or something....

A hand that looks a lot like mine is this hand below. The only difference is that I believe that the K3s call from rubenrtv is probably a lot better (his hand is good a lot higher % of the time, then the QQ call from villian above....)

That might look strange because and overpair is the nuts, compared to bottom pair, but that's the big difference between a very good handreader and just an average player who only looks at his absolute hand strength, instead of his relative one.

I should have known....

....that posting about running good is asking for some bad luck.
After my upswing of 40k hands, I had a period of 40k hands were I lost 20 buy-ins.

I don't know if it sounds familiar, but if I have been running hot for a while, like I did in the beginning of the month, I'm almost scared to play again, knowing that luck will probably turn into bad luck any time soon.
On the other hand, when I have a period of running not so good, I have the tendency to play more then normal just to get out of the downswing as fast as possible.

But when I think rationally, I know that the past has no impact on future hands, so when I have for example 20 buyins of luck (I know it's hard to decifer the exact luck factor) or bad luck over a period of time it doesn't mean that it will happen the other way around in the next period....

Am I the only who thinks like this?

donderdag, april 08, 2010

New top10 and running hot

As promised before I will post a new top10 of EVP midstakes (400/600) regulars.
This time I only looked at players I played more then 2500 hands with since march 1st (~ 50 players).
So again, some good players might be missing, but that's just cause they haven't played much vs me. I just like to give some idea of which players are improving or which are not.

10. PperPazzo

This player has the highest VPIP of all regulars (he plays 32/26). I do think he has some leaks (especially preflop), but I also think he adjusts good to the pre-flop style he is playing.

9. lolpancake

See previous time, not much changed, hate the fact that he's always curing and complaining.

8. toaster

He plays a lot of NL200 as well, but I think he's a really decent player. Never understand why he plays NL200 most of the time.

7. -MJP-

Very solid player, has a very solid pre-flop game and never see him do any weird stuff.

6. Jflamm

See last month, not much changed, just can't win against him

5. hotze

Still thinks he's a decent player, but I probably overestimated him a little.

4. burn1emAc

He really improved his game the last months, he's a lot more aggro pre-flop and still very solid postflop.

3. JVVD

See last month.

2. Chappolini

Haven't played a lot with him (3.5k hands), but he always seems very solid and tricky.

1. groengras

If you see this little Taksi drinking men in real life you won't expect he's this good. But he's just a very good and tricky player. His hand reading is very good and he knows how to put players in though spots.

Recovering

I found my way up after one of my worst downswings so far. Happy to be back at my all time high again so fast.
I always believe it's one of the most difficults things in poker to stay focused (not tilting) and keep playing you're A-game when things are not going you're way.

Biggest downswing ever

I just found out that my recent period (I'm already halfway back) of running not so good, has been my worst downswing ever. From top to bottom I lost 33 buy-ins in 25k hands and as far as I know my previous record was around 25 buy-ins.
It doesn't feel as bad though as a year ago when I didn't lose as much as now, but just played break-even for 250k hands...
Im just very happy and proud of myself that in a month when I run quite bad, I'm still able to win over 20 buy-ins, having over $10K profit and ending this first quarter as my third best ever.

Getting some cards again...

Yesterday I had one of the strangest sessions in a while.
In the first 20 minutes I got premiums all over the place.
Had KK 6 times in 20 minutes, QQ 3 times and one time AA. But the funny thing was I lost ALL ten pots and was down ~6 buy-ins in 20 minutes.
After that period I had a nice comeback, mainly because I kept getting premiums and it looked like I was playing superaggro, but I just got some hands.

Here's how the graph looked like:

And these are the most important hands:

First one:

This one is a little thin and I'm not totally sure if I played it ok, but since his range is so small preflop I don't mind it that much.
Villian is quite an ABC player (19/16, 6% 3bet). When he calls pre-flop he basically has AQ/88-JJ a lot of the time. My flop c-bet is kind of standard I guess and when the turn brings another flushdraw and pairs the board, I know only AQ beats me...probably could have gone for a C/C as well, but meh...

Worst session ever

Just finished my worst session ever.
Played 3k hands and managed to lose 11 buy-ins.
Had position on one of the biggest donks in a while but lost 6 buyins on that table and when I finally won a pot over 25bb....he left with $3k.
I only won 3 pots over 50bb over the this whole session.....
Hope this guy is having some fun with my money

The other hands were just cooler after cooler (KK vs AA, QQ vs AA, AK vs AA, QQ vs KK, QQ vs AK, set over set, set vs straight and a combodraw I missed obv).

Really can't do much about it, but it shows again how brutal variance can be.

Time for some sleep now.

Where's my luckbox?

Just finished one of my unluckiest sessions ever. Played really good, so that's even more frustrating. Finished 10 buyins under EV. Highlight of this session was a period of 15 minutes were I lost AA vs AK twice and AK vs AK once.

maandag, maart 15, 2010

200k hands

Still on schedule for 1 million hands and 5bb/100+ so far.
Also quite happy that this year has been quite steady so far. Had some swingy days but nothing compared to last year. Last days I even had my luckbox back!

Tourneys are still terrible BTW. I might have set the record for longest streak of out of the money finishes. I think I'm now around 30-40 sunday majors on a row out of the money. I probably just suck at tourney poker though.
Maybe I just save my luck for the WSOP, because I'm gonna be playing 2-3 tournaments in the first 2 weeks of june there. Hope to get lucky one time!

dinsdag, maart 09, 2010

Coolers....

Just finished a very sick session, played almost 6k hands and don't think I got coolered as much as I did today.
Just to show you how ugly variance can be....

Variance

Variance is something I talked a lot about in my blog.
It's because it's so important to be aware of in poker and I believe that most players underestimate it tremendously.
Even some of the top players do so, for example Brian Townsend in his blog on cardrunners.

I've never played him, but from what I've heard and seen he's a good player, but when you're playing the biggest games on the internet and also mostly Omaha (which has a lot higher variance then holdem) you should be expect some massive swings.
And when I'm talking about massive I don't mean absolute $$, but just buyins and periods of hands when you're losing or playing break even.
If you see that on those stakes, most players probably don't play more then 10k - 20k hands a month, it's really easy to have a losing year.

If I look at myself I've had a period of 250k hands where I didn't win and I can say that I probably have a greater edge then any player in a nosebleed game where expected winrates are probably 3bb/100 at best. My play is also not that high variance (my stdev is around 75-80 bb/100) compared to well over 100 for Omaha I guess.

So if you take those things together (100+ st dev, 3bb expected winrate, 20k hands a month) then at the end of the year out of the 10 highstakes players who expect to win 3bb/100, 1 is losing money over this 250k hands....
The thing is that probably no player can't stand losing that long (timewise) so they move down. In the end it probably just means that the most lucky/brave/rich players will keep playing nosebleeds.

And players like Brian Townsend should just be very happy with himself that they runned so hot when taking their first shots, because without that it's probably impossible to play that stakes for longer then a month.

Ok so that's it for now. Need to post some hands again, that's a lot easier :-)
Ok just one then...really wanted to fold after he 17th bet me, but hey, I have AK!

2010 so far

The results so far this year are quite good.
I played 175k hands this year and I'm still winning over 6bb/100.

Lately there has been some discussion on 2+2 on some softplaying/colluding of 'team Sweden'. I heard they got banned and thinks it's a good thing, especially if u read the comments on 2+2 from 'team Sweden'.

Link to 2+2 topic:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/56/medium-stakes-pl-nl/official-everest-msnl-thread-272684/index35.html

But now they start accusing the dutch players of softplaying as well and since I'm dutch I don't like this at all. Yes it's true that there are a lot of dutch players on EVP and most of time are above average players and play a lot with each other, but Ive never seen suspicious plays between dutch guys. Or like the swedes, players who just don't play a big pot against each other ever.
I just have respect for good players (no matter where they from), but I play against a dutch player just like I would play against a swedish player.

Top 10

I've got some funny reactions on this top10 I posted last month. Quite funny that people actually really believed that NICORINSOU is the best midstakes player on EVP.
There is only 1 guy who believes that and that is Nico himself...just read the comments by that post from him and you'll understand me :-)

First 100k hands of 2010

Just played my first 100k hands of 2010 and I'm quite happy with the results, especially since im not even running hot (EV wise).

Here's my graph over this 100k hands:

Im also playing some Rushpoker on Full Tilt and I really like it so far. Because of it's structure stacks are really deep (average is 200b after 1 hour of playing) and there are just no shortstacks at all.
Because youre constantly changing tables there's no such thing as table dynamic, so just basic handreading becomes very important and I think I have a big advantage there, because I played so much hands and just have a better feeling then most players where I am in a hand.

I might post some interesting hands in my next update.

Top10 Midstakes players on EVP

I decided to come up with something new.
As most people always like lists I decided to start with a monthly top 10 of best midstakes players on EVP (NL400 and NL600)
This list will be picked out of the players who I've played at least 5000 hands over the past 3 months with and I will make a new update with a new top10 at the beginning of every month.
Criteria for the list are basically 3 things, first pre-flop play, second postflop play and probably most importantly tilt control.

Offcourse this list is very subjective, cause its just from my experience vs the players.
Some players, who for example are very lucky against me are probably higer in the list then players who run very bad against me, cause it may look like someone is running over me, but he might just run superhot against me or the other way around offcourse.

Ok so here it is, starting with number 10.

10. pocketjoe (played 19k hands with him)

Very solid player, but not a problem to have on your left. On the tight side preflop and kind of ABC postflop. Never seen him tilt though.

9. fjutsie (21k hands)

Same story as pocketjoe although he is a little more agressive postflop.
I might be biased here a little bit as it seems Im running quite hot vs him and he is down quite a bit in my database, so he might just be running very bad at my tables.

8. lolpancake (24k hands)

This is a guy who always looks for spots to outplay u postflop. Sometimes he overdoes it a little, but it makes him more difficult to play then some of the guys who just try to stay out of the way. Pre-flop he's quite standard likte the rest. His downside is probably that he lets his emotions take over some of the time.

7. h00l1gan (16k hands)

This is a relatively new player (playing since december I think), but so far he seems quite a good player, really like his positional preflop play. Postflop he's one of the more agressive players, but mostly in a smart way. Havent seen him make any tilt plays either.

6. JVVD (12k hands)

This is a regular with the highest VPIP in the top10 (~ 30%). A guy u rather dont have on your left. Really agressive preflop (especially on the button), although I think he's too loose in EP, he seems to get away with it against most players.
Postflop he's not that agressive though. Not sure if he can handle tilt.

5. Jflamm (28k hands)

Played the most hands vs him. He's just like jvvd a pain in the ass to have on your left. Really likes to 3bet the button. Postflop he can really be overagressive sometimes. It's really important vs him to mix up your game and trap him in spots where your hand seems face up. He could tilt quite a bit though.

4. Niwle (12k hands)

Very solid player pre-flop and postflop. He's not that irritating to have on your table like number 5 & 6, but I just don't see him make much big mistakes. Just very solid and agressive when he has to.

3. Ekzism126 (11k hands)

Very good handreader postflop. Good and very solid pre-flop and capable of some creative moves postflop. Never seems to tilt.

2. Hotze (20k hands)

I like his style a lot. Plays a very good positional game pre-flop and is very agressive postflop, but in a good way and not just in the standard spots. Always seems to put me in a though position. I might be biased here again a little as he could be running hot vs me, but his stats suggest at least he knows very well what he's doing.

1. NICORSINOU (19k hands)

Without a doubt the best player on the midstakes on EVP. No clue why he still does play some NL200 and not NL1000+. Seems like he always knows exactly what u have and never makes any mistake. Tilting is something he never does, when he gets a bad beat, he doesn't blink and goes on to the next hand.

Ok so this was my first top10, next month another one. Just let me know if u miss some players in here or if some players don't belong in here.

Back from holiday

After a week of holiday in Austria Im back to playing some poker again.
So far 2010 is going as ok for me. Played 70k hands so far and won close to 7bb/100.
My goal for this year is to play 1 million hands and keep my winrate above 5bb/100.
I know it's difficult to set winrate goals, cause im still dependant of the variance that could treat me bad, but with such a big sample it should be evened out at the end for the most part.

I'll keep this update short, but Id like some input on some topics I can talk about next time. It can be about strategy or anything poker related. Just let me know in the comments and I'll pick an interesting one to talk about next time.

Some hands to finish this update:

Happy new year

Im so lazy when it comes to blogging.
Everytime I tell me self I should update more frequently, but somehow im just too lazy for it. While with poker im not lazy at all and probably played close to 1 millions hands in 2009.

It was my 'worst' year as pokerpro so far (3rd year now), but I still made a nice profit, but just not what I expected it to be.
It is always difficult to tell why it wasn't so good, but a few reasons are that the tables where pretty bad between march and june and I run pretty terrible as well during that period and probably my game was affected by that.
I also had some computer issues as well. But after holidays in August I recovered quite well. Replaced my harddisk which was broken and bought a 30 inch monitor(played with 2 24 inch before).

Suddenly everything was going smooth again, tables were great, I was running good and made over 100 buyins in 100k hands.
I also played my first live tournament ever (yes I'm a tourney donkey) on Gran Canaria (SPT final). It was a complete failure as I become 60th (out of 97).
I'm just not suited for playing 20 hands an hour, I even could go to the toilet with good timing between 2 hands without missing a hand....

Although pokerwise it sucked, it was very nice to meet a lot of guys I'm playing everyday, so I might visit some other tournaments as well this year, not sure if Im playing though.

Last thing, I found out Twitter (yeah finally) and think it's an easier way to post short updates on poker and other things in life, so guess Im gonna use that (my username is Bldzwttrn, as my screenname on EVP)
It also works really nice on my new Blackberry 9700 with Ubertwitter.
So if you want to add me, please do so.
