I'm playing more HU lately. I think it's very good training for a normal 6max game. It's very good for your bluffing skills and hand reading. In HU you can't get away with just waiting for boards that fits your cards. You have to make some big bluffs/call downs. I also like it as it's not so mechanical as 8-tabling the NL400 6 max game.
On to the hand I played today against a total unknown who bought in for full (doesn't happen a lot). This is probably the fourth hand at the table, so I have no reads at all.

hilarisch hand. Villain lijkt wel de hand op de allerslechtste manier mogelijk te willen spelen.
nice pot en imo is headsup wel erg winstgevend maar huge variance (wat je al hekel aan hebt geloof ik) en ik betwijfel of je met 2-tabling HU meer kan verdienen dan 8-tabling 400NL.
maar als het als +ev afwisseling bekeken wordt en training om beter te worden dan zit het wel goed denk ik; ;)
Ik heb geen hekel aan variance, zeker niet op de 400, maar op de 1000 waar de verschillen kleiner zijn en de variance groter heb ik er niet zo'n zin in. Want dan moet je denken aan dagen van 6-8K winst of verlies en dat hakt er in.
HU 400 tegen matige spelers heeft niet bijzonder veel variance. Ik zoek mijn tegenspeler natuurlijk wel uit en ben slim genoeg om te stoppen als ik denk geen (grote) edge te hebben.

Is dat iets typisch HU dan? Ik meen toch te herinneren dat minraises en flatcalls in FR iig als kracht worden gezien?

Een minbet en dan een call bij een raise is meestal niet heel erg sterk. Maar niks is natuurlijk een zekerheid in poker. Zeker de combinatie met de check/call op de turn vind ik zwak/drawy overkomen.
